Our story

Growing up in Tokyo, our founder Yoko was obsessed with all things kinako – kinako mochikinako ice cream, kinako cookies. After moving to New York, she was always on the hunt for kinako-based products – mostly without success.

 

That’s when Yoko had the idea: to bring the sweet, versatile, nutty taste of kinako to the States. Then she started making kinako drinks for her close friends at picnics, making tweaks and iterations on her recipes over time to get the flavor just right.
